The 4-Step Workflow for Non-Contact 3D Full-Field Strain Measurement

Date:2025-04-02

Step 1—Preparation for non-contact 3D strain measurement

The XTOP3D XTDIC non-contact full-field strain measurement system is flexible and easy to use. Position the measurement head at the test site based on the specimen dimensions and adjust the setup to the appropriate measurement range.

Step 2 – Non-contact 3D Strain Measurement Phase

During specimen loading, the XTDIC non-contact full-field strain measurement system synchronously captures images and records the analog force data from the testing machine.

  • Customizable measurement modes
  • Multiple flexible acquisition trigger options
  • Built-in data recording
  • Real-time measurement

Step 3 — Non-contact 3D Strain Measurement and Analysis Phase
The XTDIC non-contact full-field strain measurement and analysis software automatically calculates the 3D coordinates of the specimen across all loading stages, deriving data on geometry, displacement, and strain.

  • Calculate material property parameters
  • Import CAD data and perform comparative analysis
  • Calculate geometric elements
  • Process external analog signals
  • Import theoretical FEA values, compare them with experimental results, and output the findings

Step 4—Generating the 3D Strain Measurement Report
The XTDIC non-contact full-field strain measurement system automatically generates measurement reports. Users can customize various report data—including 3D views, curves, charts, and videos—and export test data in standard formats.
